All Heart
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23 NIV
Your heart....do you ever think about how important it is for life and in more ways than one?
Sure, physically, it is a vital organ in your body that is needed to push blood through the body and you need it in order to live. But have you ever said "that makes my heart happy" after something wonderful happened? Or if something bad happens, you say "that breaks my heart"? That’s emotional. Have you ever had an encounter with Jesus and He saved you and lives in "your heart"? That’s spiritual.
I searched the internet to see if you can live without a heart. No, you can't. But did you know that the heart cannot function on its own without another organ—the BRAIN. Wow. We need the brain to tell the heart what to do. The brain is the control or command center. It's what gives you life.
As I sat and thought about it from the spiritual side, I realized God is the control or command center. He is what gives you life.
So as your heart beats, what is in control? What are the commands? Are they of this world, telling you to try this or do that—only to find that you are dying, wanting so badly for something to change, to fill the emptiness you feel? Something to make you feel alive? With God controlling and commanding your life, you have someone who gives you strength, peace, and mercy to go through this life day by day. Someone who gives you life and promises an eternal life with Him. People want to believe that if they are good and have a good heart for others, that's enough. Romans 3:10 says, "There is no one righteous, no not one." BUT GOD!
The Truth of God is this: “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever (put your name right there) would believe in Him would not perish but would have everlasting life (John 3:16).” God has already taken care of it for you. All you have to do is realize you are a sinner, confess it, repent (turn away from your sins), ask for God's forgiveness, and ask Him to come into your life as your Lord and Savior. It would pay to have a heart checkup and ensure you know these things:
God is your control center and is the source of life. Luke 6:45
You need a new and pure heart. Psalm 51:10
Your heart ought to seek God and trust and obey Him. Psalm 119:10
Your heart is a reflection of your inner self. Proverbs 27:19
Your heart is where your treasures are. Luke 12:34
Keep your heart strong. Pray, study God's Word, and live your life for Him.
I pray that as you feel your heartbeat, that if it was the last one, you know without a shadow of a doubt who your heart belongs to and who is in control of your life. I pray it is God.
Father, I pray for each one who reads this. I pray that each heart is searched, and that it belongs to you. And if it needs a new heartbeat, of life, that they seek you and find that you will give them your heartbeat and the only life they'll ever need.
