Forgiveness

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6: 14-15 (ESV)

Many times, people ask me "Where do I find such peace in my life?" My answer is very simple...God.

I have found myself going in the wrong direction and God always has a way of bringing me back where He wants me. And along the way I have found out what true forgiveness means.

When you find true forgiveness from God, you learn to forgive others and in turn you find true peace. Forgiveness is very powerful. When you can forgive someone that has done you wrong then you realize what it's like to release the stronghold of the devil on your life. The devil wants us to hold grudges and not forgive because he gets to live rent free in your head. Colossians 3:13 tells us that we are to bear with one another and forgive as the Lord has forgiven us. Learn to live a better life with true forgiveness.

We need to read God's word every day and draw closer to Him. When you draw closer to God you leave less room for the devil to get in. I am living proof of this. I feel like a new person. If I even start to think negative, I immediately think of a worship song or a Bible verse and get back on the positive track. I have learned that kindness goes farther than you realize sometimes. Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (ESV).

God wants us to forgive one another and love one another as He does. Your life will get so much better when you draw closer to God and treat others as He wants us to. Life is not all about us. We must put God first and everything else will fall into place.

May my life be a light for others to see Jesus.
